Trojans' Season Ends in Regional Final Against No. 8 Oregon State
June 02, 2025 | Baseball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The USC baseball team's season came to an end in the championship game of the Corvallis Regional, as the Trojans fell 9-0 to No. 8 Oregon State.
After securing its first postseason appearance in a decade, USC won the opening two games of regional play, including a 13-1 victory over No. 22 TCU, to advance to the regional final, but ran out of gas against the Beavers, falling twice to the regional hosts.
The Beavers scored in four of the first five innings on Monday, hitting three home runs to take a 6-0 lead. A three-run eighth inning capped it for OSU.
USC's offense was never able to get going as the Trojans left four runners on and hit into five double plays.
A disappointing final two games came on the heels of one of the best seasons in recent memory for the Trojans, as USC posted its most wins since 2015 and made just the second postseason appearance in 20 years for the program. In three years under Head Coach Andy Stankiewicz, USC has won at least 30 games in three straight years for the first time since 2000-02 under Hall-of-Fame Manager Mike Gillespie. Stankiewicz (102 wins at USC) and Gillespie are the only two coaches in USC history to win more than 100 games in their first three years at the University.
