Â
ALL-TIME SERIES VS WASHINGTON: USC is 46-47 all-time against the Huskies. The most recent matchup between USC and UW resulted in a Trojan sweep in 2024. Last season Ethan Hedges had 5 hits in the three-game sweep. This will be the first meeting for the programs in the Big 10.
Â
B1G TOURNAMENT: The Big Ten Tournament will be played in Omaha, Neb. at Charles Schwab Field, May 20-25. Depending on results this week, USC can reach as high as the No. 2 seed or as low as the No. 6 seed.
Â
LAST WEEK: The Trojans lost their first series in more than two months last weekend, dropping 2-of-3 games to Michigan State at home. The series loss was USC's first since being swept by No. 5 Oregon (March 7-9), and was just the second series loss of the season for the Trojans, who have won 10-of-12 three-game series so far this year. USC dropped the opening two games and then won the finale, 10-3.
Â
STANKIEWICZ NEARING 100 WINS AT USC: USC Head Coach Andy Stankiewicz is two wins away from 100 career wins at USC (98-69-1). Hall-of-Famer Mike Gillespie is the only other USC manager to reach the 100-win mark in his first three seasons at the helm for the Trojans. In his three years at USC, Stankiewicz has already led the program to its first run of three straight 30-win seasons since 2000-02, and the first back-to-back Top 4 finishes in the conference standings since 2014-15. USC is one of just 13 power four schools with 50+ conference wins over the last three seasons (51). For his career as a head coach, Stankiewicz owns a career record of 439-308-3 over 14 seasons.
Â
TOP 25 SERIES WIN VS UCLA: The Trojans took two-of-three from No. 14 UCLA over the weekend, winning the second two games after dropping the opener. Caden Aoki threw 7.0 scoreless innings on Saturday to lead USC to victory and Augie Lopez led the way with two RBI. Andrew Johnson threw 6.1 scoreless relief innings on Sunday and USC erased an early 3-0 deficit, getting four RBI from Augie Lopez and three from Andrew Lamb.
Â
30 WINS AGAIN: USC's win against CSUN on Tuesday gave the program a third straight 30-win season for the first time since 2002. The Trojans have won at least 30 games in each of Head Coach Andy Stankiewicz's three seasons at the helm, a feat that had happened just once in the prior 17 years before Stankiewicz took over in 2023. USC's streak of seven straight series victories is also the first such streak for a Trojan team since 2001.
