USC Men’s Tennis Goes on First Big Ten Road Trip
March 20, 2025 | Men's Tennis
LOS ANGELES – After a week of rest, USC men's tennis hits the road this weekend to take on Northwestern and No. 23 Illinois in Big Ten Conference play.
USC kicked off conference play at home two weeks ago, defeating both Purdue and Indiana 6-1 in Los Angeles to improve to 8-4 on the season and 2-0 in the Big Ten. The Trojans are 5-1 over the last six games, with their only loss coming to No. 7 San Diego at the end of February.
Currently, the Trojans are playing their best tennis of the season. The Trojans have two players in the latest round of national rankings, senior No. 30 Peter Makk and freshman No. 108 Nathan Trouve. USC has also seen a string of impressive performances across all six courts, highlighted by freshman Matteo Morazzi who enters the weekend on a six-match win streak.
The Trojans will need to carry that momentum on the road this weekend. They will face two ranked players against the Illini in No. 16 Kenta Miyoshi and No. 62 William Mroz. Northwestern does not have any ranked players.
USC will kick-off the weekend in Evanston on Friday, March 21. First serve against Northwestern will take place at 4 p.m. The match against Illinois will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 23.
