No. 16 USC Men’s Swimming Sweeps UNLV

Trojans claim all 14 events against the Rebels.
LOS ANGELES – The No. 16 ranked USC men's swimming team won all 14 events against UNLV to defeat the Rebels 159-94 at Uytengsu Aquatics Center on Fri., Feb. 7.
With the win, the Trojans officially finish the 2024-25 dual season 3-2 overall.
USC opened the meet with a 1-2-3 sweep in the 200y medley relay as the Trojans' A, B and C relays claimed the top three spots. The Trojan quartet of Griffin O'Leary, Chris O'Grady, Michal Chmielewski and Diggory Dillingham combined to clock a 1:25.82 for first.
USC freshman Thomas Olsen posted a season best 9:20.21 to claim the men's 1000y free for Troy.
Trojan Luke Maurer kept the momentum going for the Trojans, leading a sweep in the men's 200y freestyle as he clocked a 1:34.00 for first. Oliver Sogaard-Andersen (1:35.24), Sanberk Oktar (1:35.65) and Ian Pickles (1:38.16) finished 2-3-4, respectively.
Sophomore Olympian Michal Chmielewski led another USC sweep in the 100y backstroke, clocking a 47.18 for first place. Trojans Derek Zhang (47.89) and O'Leary (48.30) touched second and third.
Swimming in the final dual meet of his career as a Trojan, Artem Selin blasted a season-best 19.48 to claim the men's 50y freestyle. Freshman Diggory Dillingham (19.87) and fifth-year senior Maurer (20.04) finished second and third, respectively.
Freshman Junhao Chan claimed the 100y breaststroke in 52.08. Senior Ben Dillard was runner-up in 52.48.
After the break, Maurer (43.02), Selin (44.21) and Sogaard-Andersen (44.40) turned in another splash and dash Trojan sweep, finishing 1-2-3 in the 100y freestyle.
Junior O'Leary clocked a 1:46.24 as he led USC to victory in the 200y backstroke.
USC swept the 200y breaststroke as senior Dillard clocked a 1:54.20 for first. Chan was second in 1:54.38, followed by O'Grady in 1:54.65.
Krzysztof Chmielewski claimed a pair of events against the Rebels, winning the 200y fly (1:42.07) and 500y freestyle (4:22.05).
Sophomore Oktar won the 200y IM, posting a time of 1:45.97. Troy closed the meet with a win in the 400y free relay, with Oliver Sogaard-Andersen, Ben Dillard, Diggory Dillingham and Luke Maurer combining for 2:54.07.
Up next, the Trojans will head to Minneapolis, Minn. to compete at the 2025 Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships. The meet with run Wed., Feb. 26 through Sat., March 1.
