Taylor Deckert Joins USC Women's Volleyball for Spring Season

The Trojans add the All-American libero/defensive specialist to their top-rated 2025 freshman class
LOS ANGELES – The USC women's volleyball program has added Taylor Deckert (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa HS) to its roster for the spring season, head coach Brad Keller announced on Monday (Jan. 13).
Deckert is a 5-9 libero/defensive specialist regarded as one of the top prospects in the country. As a senior, she was named a 2024 Under Armour All-American and was selected to the MaxPreps All-America first team. A standout at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California, Deckert was honored as the 2024 Bay League MVP and named the Bay League Libero of the Year in both 2022 and 2023. She is a three-time Daily Breeze All-Area first team selection (2022-24) and received first-team All-CIF Southern Section Division I recognition as a senior. Deckert also excelled on the club circuit as a member of Southern California Volleyball Club, where she helped her team secure gold at the 2023 U17 Open National Championship and earned a spot on the all-tournament team.
Last season, the Women of Troy were awarded the sixth seed and made their 40th all-time appearance in the NCAA tournament. USC (22-10) defeated UT Arlington in a three-set sweep in the first round to advance to the second round for the 35th time. There, the Trojans were eliminated by third-seeded and 13th-ranked site host Texas in straight sets. USC reached 20 wins for the second time under Keller to earn its third consecutive berth in the tourney. Setter Mia Tuaniga set a new school record for career assists and was named to the AVCA All-America third team. She and outside hitter Ally Batenhorst were each AVCA All-Region choices and were taken with picks in the PVF Draft.
