LOS ANGELES — USC Men's Basketball (10-1, 1-1 Big Ten) will take on the UTSA Roadrunners at the Galen Center on Wednesday, Dec. 16. The Trojans are 1-0 overall against the Roadrunners.

LAST TIME OUT
USC took down the Washington State Cougars 68-61 in a gritty battle of the paint. At 11:08, the Trojans sparked a 15-0 run that saw dominant performances from Jacob Cofie and Chad-Baker Mazara at the rim. Washington State cut the deficit to one early in the second half, but free throws would fall for USC, and Baker-Mazara came up with a deafening defensive play with a minute to go to seal the victory.

Cofie clinched his third double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. He and Baker-Mazara combined for 40 points by the final buzzer. The Trojans kept the Cougars to their lowest rebounding performances of the season at 28 boards.

SCOUTING THE ROADRUNNERS

UTSA is 4-6 (.400) entering Wednesday's game on a three-game losing streak. They most recently fell 88-64 to Colorado on the road on Dec. 13.
Guard Jamir Simpson leads the Roadrunners in scoring with 18.9 points per game. Shooting a team-high 40% from beyond the arc, Simpson has scored 20 or more points in six showings this season.
Baboucarr Njie has recorded 17 blocks so far. He's had three games with three blocks this season.
In the Roadrunners' loss to Colorado, Simpson posted 20 points. Guard Brent Moss and forward Daniel Akitoby also contributed double-digit scoring.
UTSA scored a season-low 17 points in the first half against No. 12 Alabama on Dec. 7.
Last season, UTSA finished eleventh in the American Athletic Conference (12-19, 6-12 AAC). The team returns two players from the 2024-25 squad, welcoming three freshmen and nine players from the transfer portal.
Head Coach Austin Claunch is in his second season with UTSA. His record before this year's campaign was 16-24 (.400).

MIGHTY MARSH
Jordan Marsh has given USC quality point guard minutes off the bench recently. The junior point guard has averaged 10.3 points and 3.3 assists in 28.3 minutes per game over the last three games. Marsh set season-highs in three different statistical categories over the last three games: He scored a season-high 17 points against Washington, grabbed a season-high five rebounds against San Diego, and he is coming off recording a season-high five assists against Washington State.
