Box Score Highlights Press Conference

The Trojans never trailed in the match and finished off the Scarlett Knights in less than 90 minutes.

LOS ANGELES – The No. 17-ranked USC women's volleyball team (20-5, 11-4 Big Ten) never trailed as the Trojans won their ninth straight match with a sweep (25-13, 25-17, 25-10) of Rutgers (11-16, 2-13) on Friday night at Galen Center.

KEY PLAYERS

RS So. OH London Wijay led the charge with 11 kills on 27 swings (.340). She also had one ace, one solo block, two block assists and four digs.
Fr. S Reese Messer dished out 23 assists to go along with four digs and three kills.
Sr. MB Rylie McGinest led the team with six block assists and two solos. McGinest also had four kills on nine attempts.
Fr. L Taylor Deckert recorded a match-high 14 digs and six assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Trojans jumped out to a 7-1 lead and cruised to a 25-13 opening-set victory, hitting .240 and recording four blocks as a team. Another 7-1 run midway through the set put USC up by 10 as they would score the final three points to win by 12.
The second set was another wire-to-wire victory for the Trojans as USC hit .343 and recorded four aces to win it 25-17. Abigail Mullen had four kills in the second set as six different Trojans had multiple kills in the set.
USC followed the same script in the third set, opening with a 7-1 run and then putting things out of reach with a 7-0 run to make it 18-5. The Trojans hit a match-high .400 in the third set and had six blocks.
The Trojans finished the match with 12 total blocks and a .329 hitting percentage.

UP NEXT
