EUGENE, Ore. – The USC women's soccer team picked up a dramatic win on the road on Friday afternoon as Jaiden Anderson scored in the 86th minute to give the Trojans a 1-0 victory over Oregon.
It was the fifth clean sheet of the season for the Trojans, as USC moves to 7-3-2 overall and 4-2-0 in Big Ten play. Oregon falls to 2-8-3, 0-4-2.
USC was on the attack all afternoon, outshooting the Ducks 15-9 and holding 64% of the possession, but it took just over 85 minutes for the Trojans to break through. Anderson got the ball off a throw in from Alison Hou near the left sideline and carried the ball towards the top of the 18 yard box, firing a shot on the run from 20 yards out that found the back of the right netting.
Bella Grust made four saves in goal to pick up the shutout for USC, saving a pair of shots in each half. The USC defense held Oregon to just two shots in the first half.
