USC Men's Basketball Travels To Phoenix For First-Ever Meeting With GCU

The Trojans seek for their second exhibition win against the Lopes.

USC Men's Basketball will face the Grand Canyon Lopes on the road on Saturday, Oct. 25, to close out its exhibition competition. This matchup marks the first meeting in program history.

The Trojans are coming into the desert with a 60-51 road win in an exhibition game against Loyola Marymount on Oct. 18. Graduate guard Chad Baker-Mazara led in scoring with 14 points and three assists, while junior guard Jordan Marsh put up 12 points, and senior center Gabe Dynes contributed six blocks and eight rebounds in the victory.

Grand Canyon fell to Baylor 79-74 in its first exhibition game on Oct. 10 in Waco, Texas. The Lopes saw three players scoring in double figures, led by senior Jaden Henley's game-high 28 points.

Led by head coach Bryce Drew, the Lopes completed the 2024-25 season with an overall 26-8 (.765) record and 13-3 (.812) conference record, finishing second in the Mountain West. Grand Canyon has made four NCAA appearances in the last five seasons, including a first-round upset win vs. Saint Mary's in 2024.

Grand Canyon's 2025-26 team includes two returners and eleven newcomers, including seven transfers and four freshman recruits.

The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and the Grand Canyon University Radio Network. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Global Credit Union Arena in Phoenix.
