USC Women's Soccer Shuts Out San Francisco, 2-0

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The USC women's soccer team scored twice in the second half and posted its second shutout of the season, taking down San Francisco 2-0 on Thursday evening in the Bay.
Maria Alagoa and Kayla Colbert provided the goals and the Trojan defense held up for the full 90 minutes for the first time since week two against CBU. The Trojans move to 4-0-1 on the year. USF falls to 3-3 with the loss.
USC and the Dons were tentative through the first half, but it was a free kick outside the box that provided the breakthrough in the second half for the visitors. Taking the kick from roughly 10 yards outside the box, Maria Alagoa converted for her second goal in a USC uniform.
Faith George was the catalyst on the second goal of the match, sending in a beautiful cross that Kayla Colbert knocked home to make it 2-1 in the 74th minute. It was Colbert's second goal in as many games.
