No. 5 USC Men’s Tennis Hits the Trails for its First Road Trip of the 2024 Season

LOS ANGELES – No. 5 USC men's tennis (4-0) ventures to the Midwest for its first hint of road duals, as it does battle with Oklahoma State (6-2) at 11 a.m. PT/1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater, Okla., and Baylor (6-1) at 3:30 p.m. PT/5:30 CT on Monday, Feb. 12 at the Hurd Tennis Courts in Waco, Texas.
RANKINGS
The Trojans enter this weekend as the No. 5 ranked team in the country (ITA Coaches Poll, Feb. 7) after being ranked at No. 7 for four consecutive polls. USC currently hosts two-ranked individuals and one ranked doubles squad in the most recent individual rankings (Feb. 7). Junior Peter Makk is the highest-ranking individual, ranked #38. Sitting behind him is #96 senior Lodewijk Weststrate. Makk is 3-1 in duals this season, including wins over #88 Adam Neff (SMU) and #31 Iiro Vasa (USD). Weststrate is also 3-1 in duals, with his only loss coming to #98 Jerry Barton (SMU).
USC has one ranked doubles squad with the combination of graduate student Stefan Dostanic and sophomore Oscar Weightman at #37. The brand-new duo featuring the latest member to the Trojans roster is 2-0 overall, as they have yet to drop a match as a pair in duals. The doubles squad already has one quality win as they took down #15 Sharma/Klaassen 6-4.
LAST WEEK
The Trojans only hosted one match last weekend, as they had a makeup dual date with UNLV. USC won 5-2 and claimed its fourth win in a row, including its fourth doubles-point win of the season.

SCOUTING OKLAHOMA STATE
The Cowboys enter the matchup with a plethora of experience in the early portions, as they are 6-2 overall. Their two losses on the season came at the hands of No. 4 Texas (4-1) and UCLA (4-3). Oklahoma State has two ranked individuals in #21 Tyler Zink and #32 Alejandro Garcia. On the doubles side, the Cowboys have the #26 ranked doubles squad in Zink and Isaac Becroft.
SCOUTING BAYLOR
The Bears enter Monday in a similar situation, as they are 6-1 overall, with their lone loss against #13 Arizona (4-2) in the ITA Kickoff Weekend Regional Championship. Baylor has two ranked individuals #29 Tadeas Paroulek and #107 Devin Badenhorst.
