USC Women's Soccer Match With Ohio State Moved to BMO Stadium
October 03, 2024 | Women's Soccer
LOS ANGELES – The No. 21 USC women's soccer team will move its Oct. 17 matchup with No. 7 Ohio State to BMO Stadium, the program announced on Thursday. The contest was originally scheduled to be played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
BMO Stadium, which opened in 2018, is Southern California's premier soccer venue and is the home of Angel City FC and LAFC. The Trojans have played at the stadium once in its history, hosting Florida on Aug. 29, 2019 (the venue was named Banc of California Stadium at the time).
As with all of USC's home games this season, the Oct. 17 matchup at BMO will be free and open to the public. It is the first meeting between the Trojans and Buckeyes since 2009 and is the first time the teams will meet as Big Ten foes. Ohio State is currently No. 7 in the coaches' poll and the Trojans are No. 21. USC is tied for the top spot in the conference standings with 13 points (4-0-2), while the Buckeyes are two points back with 11 (3-0-2).
USC is back in action at Dignity Health Sports Park this weekend as it hosts Oregon at noon. The Trojans hit the road against Illinois and Northwestern next week, before returning to Los Angeles for the matchup with Ohio State.
Construction on the new Rawlinson Stadium has USC playing off campus all season. Rawlinson Stadium will replace and expand upon the previous site of play for the team: Soni McAlister Field at 30th and Hoover streets just north of the University Park Campus. The $38 million project broke ground on April 9 of this year and is scheduled to be completed early in 2025.
