USC Falls to Long Beach State at Angel Stadium, 8-4

ANAHEIM, CA --The USC baseball team fell to Long Beach State at Angel Stadium, 8-4, in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday night.
Junior Jaden Agassi (1-1) started and took the loss on the mound for USC (25-18-1). Freshman Jacob Galloway collected three hits in the game.
In addition to his three hits, Galloway had a triple to lead the Trojans. Junior Ryan Jackson put together a standout performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Freshman Austin Overn also helped out for USC, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Trojans were trailing 7-0 in the fifth inning when they first put runs on the board. USC got an RBI single from Overn, scoring Galloway from second base.
The Trojans deficit expanded to 8-1 before their offense got back on the scoreboard, cutting into that deficit in the seventh inning. Freshman Bryce Grudzielanek's run-scoring single highlighted an inning where USC scored twice, which tightened the Beach lead to 8-3.
USC held the Beach off the board before narrowing the gap to 8-4 in the eighth. The Trojans scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Jackson. The Trojans were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
