THIS WEEK: The No. 21 USC baseball team resumes Pac-12 play on the road this week, heading to Corvallis to face Oregon State.

LAST WEEK: The Trojans went 4-0 at home last week, taking down LMU on Tuesday, before sweeping a non-conference series against San Diego St, outscoring the Aztecs 26-4 in the series. The Trojans have now won 16 of their last 19, taken five straight series and are on a five game winning streak.
IN THE RANKINGS: A week after breaking into the Baseball America poll at No. 25, USC moved to No. 21 in the BA rankings this week, while also moving into the D1Baseball (23), Collegiate Baseball Newspaper (24) and USC Today Coaches Poll (24) rankings.
TUESDAY VS. CSUF: USC won its midweek contest this week, taking down Cal State Fullerton at home, 4-3, on Tuesday. The Trojans broke a 2-2 tie with a pair of runs in the eighth and held off the Titans after a run in the top of the ninth. Carson Wells drove in a pair of runs in the game, while Kyle Wisch picked up the win and Garrett Clarke recorded the save.
SERIES VS. OSU: The Trojans own a 57-40 lead in the all-time series between the teams. The Beavers swept the series last season in Los Angeles and took the 2021 series two games to one in Corvallis. USC's last series win against Oregon State came in 2019, when the Trojans took two of three in Oregon.
PAC-12 STANDINGS: USC currently sits third in the Pac-12 standings (9-3), having already eclipsed its conference win total from a season ago (8-22). Stanford and Arizona State are just a game ahead of USC in the standings at 10-2.

- Austin Overn currently leads the nation with 10 triples, which is tied for the USC single season record set by Grant Green in 2007 (the NCAA record is 17). Overn is also second on the team in both batting average (.353) and is third in slugging percentage (.602). His 47 hits lead the squad and are 2nd in the Pac-12, and his 36 runs scored are 3rd in the Pac-12 and tops among Trojans. Overn is also a walk-on WR with the USC football team, but did not see time this past fall.
- Cole Gabrielson has been USC's most consistent long ball threat, leading the team with 8 homers. His .643 slugging percentage is tops on the team and 8th in the Pac-12, and his team high 38 RBI are 2nd in the Pac-12. Gabrielson also has walked 24 times, 6th most in the conference.
- Johnny Olmstead's 27 RBI are second on the team, along with his 5 homers and 4 triples. Olmstead's 4 triples sit 3rd in the Pac-12 and 14th in the country.
- Tyler Stromsborg has been lights out his last 4 starts. After giving up 17 runs through his first 4 outings, Stromsborg has not given up more than two runs each of his last 4 times out all while setting a new career high in innings pitched three of the four games. Stromsborg's best performance came on March 31 at Utah, when he tossed a complete-game shutout, becoming the first USC pitcher to do so since 2019. He also had a career best 10 strikeout day against Washington State on March 24. His 1.09 WHIP is 3rd in the Pac-12.
- Caden Aoki posted career highs of 6.0 innings and 7 strikeouts this past week, running his record to 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA. He has not allowed an earned run in his last 5 appearances, a streak of 17.1 innings. In 20.1 innings this season, he has struck out 20 batters while walking 4.
- Garrett Clarke leads USC and is 3rd in the Pac-12 with 5 saves on the year. In 16 appearances, he owns a 1.35 ERA with opponents hitting .179 against him.
- Blake Sodersten is averaging 10.43 strikeouts per 9 innings this season, the 7th best average in the conference.
TEAM NOTES:
- USC posted back-to-back shutouts on the road at Utah, marking the first time since 2008 that a USC team has posted consecutive shutouts. The Trojans have 3 shutouts on the season, 2nd in the Pac-12 and 21st in the NCAA.
- USC's 22 triples lead the nation. Four Trojans have multiple triples, including Overn (10), Olmstead (4), Gabrielson (2), Martin-Grudzielanek (2) and Hedges (2).
- USC's 3.99 team ERA is 3rd in the Pac-12 and 25th in the nation. The Trojans' 7.75 hits allowed/9 are also 3rd in the conference and 25th in the NCAA, and their 1.26 WHIP is 3rd and 16th.
