USC Baseball Rallies Late, but Falls 5-3 at No. 17 UCLA

WESTWOOD, Calif. – Nate Clow hit a two-run homer in the ninth and the USC baseball team had the tying run on base, but couldn't come all the way back against No. 17 UCLA, falling 5-3 on the road Sunday night.
USC drops to 5-5-1 with the loss, while UCLA improves to 9-2 on the year.
The Trojans had their chances early, putting runners on base each of the first seven innings, but couldn't cash enough in. Ethan Hedges drove in the first run of the game for USC with an RBI double in the sixth.
UCLA scored a pair of runs in both the second and sixth innings, and got an RBI double in the third.
USC got a pinch-hit single from Connor Aoki with one out in the ninth and then Clow sent a shot out to right to make it a two-run game. Ryan Jackson and Cole Gabrielson each legged out infield singles with two outs in the ninth, but a fly ball to left ended the game.
