USC Men’s Swimming and Diving Finishes Fifth At Pac-12 Championships

USC's Chris O'Grady, Ben Dillard and Harry Homans all reached A-finals to highlight the Trojans efforts during the final evening of competition at the 2023 Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships in Federal Way, Wash.
The Trojans wrapped up the meet in fifth place with 286.5 point (including points from diving). ASU claimed the team title with 863.5 points, followed by Cal (779), Stanford (615.5) and Arizona (291).
Racing in the A-final of the 200y butterfly, senior Harry Homans clocked a 1:43.52 to touch seventh in the heat. His teammate Jackson Odgers was 12th in the consolation final, posting a 1:44.62.
USC had another strong showing in the 200y breaststroke, with Trojans O'Grady (1:52.77) and Dillard (1:53.27) finishing fifth and sixth, respectively in the championship final. Senior Henry Blaul touched fourth in the consolation final in 1:55.39.
Freshman Griffin O'Leary was the lone Trojan to score in the 200y backstroke, finishing 12th in 1:42.73.
Racing in the 1650y freestyle, senior David Mertz posted a 15:33.82 to finish 18th overall.
Next up, the Trojan diving squad returns to Federal Way for the Zone E Diving Championships. Competition begins Monday (March 6) and runs through Wednesday (March 8). Live results will be available at DiveMeets.com.
