USC Diving Shines During Second Day of Pac-12 Championships

Senior George Korovin won on 3-meter, while fifth year's Isabelle Odgers and Lina Sculti took trips to the podium to highlight USC's second day of action at the 2023 Pac-12 Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way, Wash.
2022 Pac-12 platform diving champion Korovin picked up his second career conference title, this time winning the 3-meter event with 431.80 points. Also appearing in the finals was freshman Laurent Gosselin-Paradis, who yesterday won the 1-meter crown. Paradis finished runner up with 429.40 points. Sophomore Shangfei Wang was seventh on 3-meter with 357.05.
In the 500y freestyle, sophomore Marlene Kahler finished second in the consolation final (4:42.87) after just missing the A final during prelims (ninth, 4:44.06).
USC fifth year Isabelle Odgers earned a spot on the podium in the women's 200y IM, finishing third in a time of 1:55.68. Freshman Justina Kozan, who also reached the championship final, finishing fourth overall in 1:56.62.
Swimming in the consolation final of the 200y IM were freshmen Katherine Adams (1:58.99) and Ashley McMillan (1:59.35), who finished fourth and sixth, respectively. Aela Janvier won the bonus final in 2:00.30, picking up some additional points for the Women of Troy.
In the splash and dash championship final, USC's Hanna Henderson and Anicka Delgado tied for fifth as they both touched in 22.30. Trojans Kaitlyn Dobler (22.60) and Elise Garcia (22.64) finished 14th and 15th, respectively in the consolation final. Freshman Hannah Kuchler finished fourth in the bonus final of the splash and dash event, clocking a 22.84.
Stanford graduate transfer Lina Sculti finished as runner-up on women's 1-meter, tallying 308.70 points. Senior Nike Agunbiade was sixth with 268.95 points coming from finals.
Sophomore Grace Lee was fourth in the 1-meter consolation final, finishing with 263.95 points for 12th overall.
The evening closed out with the Women of Troy taking a trip to the podium as Anicka Delgado, Kaitlyn Dobler, Elise Garcia and Hanna Henderson posted a 1:28.19 to finish third. The Trojans touched just .05 seconds behind Cal's A-relay (1:28.14).
Action continues tomorrow with swim prelims scheduled for 10:30 a.m., following my men's women's 3-meter and men's platform.
