Drew Peterson Scores Career-High 30 Points As USC Men's Basketball Crushes Cal, 97-60

LOS ANGELES — Drew Peterson recorded a career-high 30 points, Boogie Ellis scored 22 points and USC men's basketball put up its highest point total of the season with a 97-60 rout over California on Thursday night.
The Trojans (18-8, 10-5 Pac-12), which are third in the conference standings as of Thursday, have won 13 straight games at Galen Center.
Peterson also finished with seven rebounds and six assists — five of each coming in the first half. The senior shot 9-of-14 from the field and hit four of seven 3-point attempts. Ellis contributed six rebounds.

Kobe Johnson had 15 points and five steals, and Oziyah Sellers scored a career-high 11 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting in 17 minutes off the bench. Harrison Hornery finished with a season-high seven points.
USC shot season bests in field goals (58.9 percent) and 3-pointers (52.2 percent) while holding Cal (3-23, 2-13 Pac-12) to just 35.6 percent from the field.
The Trojans led wire-to-wire and pulled away early when USC started the game on a 13-0 run. The Golden Bears cut the Trojans' lead to seven points with 9:10 remaining in the half, but USC outscored Cal 31-9 to take a 27-point advantage at halftime.

USC continued its pace and outscored Cal 47-37 in the second half.
Monty Bowser finished with 13 points for the Golden Bears, which have lost 10 straight games. The Trojans also defeated Cal, 66-51, in Berkeley on Nov. 30.
USC closes its weekend homestand with a matchup against Stanford on Saturday (7pm PT/ESPNU). The Trojans embark on the Rocky Mountain road trip next week before hosting the Arizona schools for their final home games of the season. Tickets to all USC home games start at just $20.
