No. 15 USC Rowing Finishes Fifth In Pac-12 Championship

LOWELL, Ore. – The No.15th ranked USC women's rowing team finished fifth overall in the 2022 Pac-12 Championship. Individually, the Trojan Varsity Four finished in third place, landing the team on the final podium at the conference championships for the first time since the Varsity Four placed third in 2017.

"I was very proud of the character of our team today," said head coach Josh Adam. "The pride and tradition of Troy was very present in all our boats. We've come a long way in a year. Now, we need to keep moving forward. The Four's third place finish put us back on the podium for the first time in a bit. Through faith in the process and strength in planning, we plan to have more boats there in the future."

TROJAN BOATS
- Jr. Eden Cooper-Squires coxed for the Trojan Varsity Eight Boat, and Jenna Van De Grift sat the stroke seat for USC. Succeeding the stroke seat was Ludovica Braglia, Claudia Cabula, Cecilie Brünnich Sørensen, Annabel Aron, Ryleigh Megill, Grete Alttoa and Zoe McCutcheon.
- Sr. Olivia Lau coxed for the Second Varsity Eight. In the stroke seat was Celia Marino followed by Ingrid Brast, Clare Widzgowski, Ieva Medelinskaite, Chiara Meakin, Ezi Emenike, Anastasiia Slivina, and Isabella Lysaker in the bow.
- Sr. Lillian Lau sat in the coxswain seat for the Varsity Four. The Trojan stroke seat was occupied by Fiona Batstone with Jane Cox, Jemima Morgan and Sonja Washburn also powering the Varsity Four boat.
- Fr. Bella Debenedetti coxed for the Third Varsity Eight, and in the stroke seat was Shelby Fary. Following Fary was Caitlin McTygue, Evita Frankevica, Anna Molnar, Olivia Passanisi-Boullet, Rhese Abrams, Alli McCale, and Sarah Panek in the bow.
- The Third Varsity Eight was first on the water for the Trojans. Coxswain Bella Debenedetti led the Women of Troy to fourth place with a time of 6:44.720. The Trojan boat was four seconds behind California's boat with the Golden Bears clocking in at 6:40.750.
- The Varsity Four was the second race of the day. Coxswain Lillian Lau guided the Trojans to third place with a time of 07:10.685. The Women of Troy were behind Washington by four seconds, with the Huskies locking in a time of 07:06.454.
- The Second Varsity Eight was up next. Coxswain Olivia Lau led USC to a fifth place finish with a time of 06:40.036. The Women of Troy were behind Oregon State by two seconds, with the Beavers posting a 06:38.452 time.
- Last to compete was the Varsity Eight. With Eden Cooper-Squires coxing, the Women of Troy crossed the finish line in fifth place with a time of 6:26.147.
