Boogie Ellis scored 19 points and Drew Peterson finished with 18 as USC men's basketball recorded its sixth-straight win with a 73-64 victory over Colorado State at the Jerry Colangelo Classic in Phoenix on Wednesday.
Ellis followed up his career game against Auburn on Saturday by going 4-of-7 from the 3-point line against the Rams. Peterson, who was named the game's most valuable player, scored 14 points and also tallied five rebounds and four assists.
Tre White had 10 points with six rebounds. Reese Dixon-Waters also scored 10 and grabbed five boards.
Back-to-back 3-pointers from White and Ellis helped USC (10-3, 2-0 Pac-12) open the game on an 8-2 run. The Trojans missed six straight shots that allowed Colorado State (8-5) to wipe away USC's lead with a 13-0 spurt.
The Trojans did not allow the Rams to score a field goal in the final five minutes in the half and went into the break with a 31-27 lead.
