Freshman co-led USC in stroke average and posted squad's highest finish.
Freshman Yuxin Lin, who co-led USC in stroke average and posted four top 15 finishes, has been named to the 2020 PING All-West Region team, the GCAA announced today.

Lin, who finished his freshman season at USC with a career-best tie for first while leading Troy to its first season win, was also recently named to the 2020 Arnold Cup International team.

Lin finished the season first at USC in top 15 finishes (four), tied for first on the team in stroke average (70.67) and was second on the team in rounds in the 60s (seven).

He tied for first in USC's final tournament of the season at the Southern Highlands Collegiate at 8-under 208 (67-67-75) before falling in the playoff. He finished among USC's top two finishers in all five of his starts.

In the fall, Lin overcame a two-shot deficit in regulation and then won a two-hole playoff to capture the 2019 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championships at the Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China, on Sept. 19.

Lin became just the second two-time winner of the event while earning berths into the 2020 Masters and Open Championships.
