Brent Crouch Resigns as USC Head Coach
January 14, 2020 | Women's Volleyball, Features
Crouch compiled a 40-25 record over two season with the Women of Troy
LOS ANGELES - After two seasons at USC, Brent Crouch has stepped down as head coach of the women's volleyball team to become the head coach at Auburn University. A search for his replacement will begin immediately.
Hired in January 2018, Crouch compiled an overall record of 40-25 with the Women of Troy including a 24-16 mark in Pac-12 matches. His 2018 squad finished in a tie for second place in the league standings. The Trojans earned berths into the NCAA tournament for the 36th and 37th times (29 consecutive appearances to date) under Crouch and advanced to the second round in each year.
This season, USC faced one of the nation's toughest schedules and finished the regular season with an 18-14 overall record despite myriad injuries and changes to the Trojans' lineup. The Women of Troy went 11-9 in the Pac-12 and landed in sixth place. USC received an at-large berth into the NCAA tournament and made its 37th all-time appearance in the tourney (29th straight) where the Trojans advanced to the second round before falling to top-seeded and No. 1-ranked Baylor. Senior outside hitter Khalia Lanier was named to the AVCA All-America second team and was chosen to the Pac-12 All-Conference team alongside senior middle blocker Jasmine Gross.
