Trojans to play games against Spanish, French & Lithuanian Select teams
The USC men's basketball team has finished its 10 allowed practices and is prepared to embark on a foreign summer tour to Spain and France which begins on Aug. 6 and runs through Aug. 16. During the 11-day trip, USC will travel to Barcelona, Spain, Cannes, France and Paris France. The team will spend three nights in each destination and play one game in each city. Among the cultural highlights on the trip will be a tour of La Sagrada Familia, a tour of the FC Barcelona Nou Camp, a catamaran trip to Ile Saint-Honorat, a day trip to Monaco and a Siene River boat cruise.
USC will play exhibition games on Aug. 8 in Barcelona against a Spanish Select Team, Aug. 11 in Cannes vs. a French Select Team and on Aug. 14 in Paris vs. a Lithuania Select Team. Updates on the Trojans' 2019 Foreign Summer Tour can be found on the school's athletic website USCTrojans.com or on twitter @USC_Hoops.
"We are excited to about our 2019 Summer Foreign Tour to Spain and France," said USC head coach Andy Enfield. "Our team will play three exhibition games against European professional teams while traveling to three magnificent locations. Our student-athletes and staff will have an amazing opportunity to enjoy a unique educational and cultural experience."
For USC, the tour will be an incredible opportunity in the early development of a roster that is just starting to take shape and introduces nine new faces, including a consensus top-10 recruiting class. USC will hope to mesh that incoming group with a key core led by seniors Nick Rakocevic and Jonah Mathews. Forward Rakocevic was USC's top rebounder and its second-leading scorer at 14.7 points per game, while the guard Mathews started every game and averaged 12.6 points per game.
Besides the opportunity to grow as a team on the court against elite-level European competition, the Trojans will have a great opportunity to experience the Spanish and French cultures and visit several amazing historical sites along the way.
USC's Summer Tour is a joint venture with Complete Sports Management.
