Thomas Wins 200m Title AT USATF U20 Championships

Lear, Brewer & VanDorpe run in event finals
USC's Lanae-Tava Thomas won the women's 200m title, Bailey Lear was fifth in the women's 400m, Alyssa Brewer was fifth in the women's 800m and Sam VanDorpe was seventh in the men's 800m at the 2019 USATF U20 Championships held in Miramar, Fla. today (June 23). By winning the 200m dash title, Thomas qualifies for the USA U20 team which will compete at the Pan Am Junior Championships later this summer in Costa Rica.
- Thomas won the 200m title with a wind-aided PR of 22.64 (+2.2w) in the final. Earlier in the day she advanced to the final with the top qualifying time of 22.93 (+2.7w).
- Lear posted a time of 52.55 to place fifth in the women's 400m final.
- Brewer was fifth in the women's 800m final with a time of 2:09.43.
- VanDorpe placed seventh in the men's 800m final with a time of 1:54.06.
