Brewer, Lear & VanDorpe Advance To Event Finals At USATF U20 Championships

Alyssa Brewer in the women's 800m, Bailey Lear in the women's 400m and Sam VanDorpe in the men's 800m all advanced to event finals at the 2019 USATF U20 Championships held in Miramar, Fla. today (June 22).

Brewer had a time of 2:06.86 to finish third in her 800m heat and fifth overall among the qualifiers to tomorrow's final.
VanDorpe also was third in his heat and seventh overall in the men's 800m with a time of 1:52.25 to advance to tomorrow's final.
Lear advanced to the women's 400m final tomorrow, by running 53.26 today in her heat. That time was third in her heat and sixth overall.
Brendon Stewart had a time of 10.43 (+1.6) to finish fourth in his heat and ninth overall in the men's 100m dash. He just missed advancing to the finals as the top eight moved on.
Karlee Freeman finished 11^th in the women's discus throw with a mark of 151-5 (46.15m). She had two fouls and then her mark of 151.5.
