Top Honors For Incoming Trojans Pili and Rogers

Two of USC’s newest are named Gatorade Players of the Year for their states.
The USC women's basketball program is proud to celebrate national honors bestowed upon two incoming Trojans today (March 8). As they close down their high school careers and prepare for their time at Troy, Alissa Pili and Endyia Rogers have picked up some significant acclaim. Pili now holds claim to three consecutive selections as Alaska's Gatorade Player of the Year. Texas native Rogers, too, has been honored as the Gatorade Player of the Year from her home state. Rogers also has landed All-America honors, earning 2019 Jersey Mike's Naismith High School All-America Honorable Mention. Both incoming Trojans are now finalists for the Gatorade National Girls Player of the Year, to be announced later this month.
A 6-foot senior forward, Alissa Pili (Anchorage, Alaska) had led her Dimond High School team to a 23-3 record and a berth in the Class 4A regional tournament at the time of her selection. Now a three-time Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year, Pili averaged 28.3 points, 16.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.4 steals through 26 games. She is a three-time First Team All-State honoree and the Cook Inlet Conference Player of the Year. She'll also be USC's first women's basketball player from Alaska.
A 5-foot-7 senior guard, Endyia Rogers (Dallas, Texas) is the first-ever Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year honoree out of Bishop Lynch High School, and she's among even more elite company with her selection to the 2019 Jersey Mike's Naismith High School All-America Honorable Mention list. She led the Friars to a 32-8 record and the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Class 6A state title this past season. Rogers averaged 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.7 steals per game, and recorded 40 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists in an 81-62 win over the Village School in the championship game. A four-time First Team All-State selection, Rogers is a two-time state champion. She concluded her prep basketball career with 2,657 points.
Pili and Rogers are two members of a talented, six-Trojan incoming freshman class. They'll be joined at Troy by fellow newcomers Madison Campbell (Fresno, Calif.), Angel Jackson (Richmond, Calif.), Alyson Miura (Clackamas, Ore.), and Kyra White (San Antonio, Texas).
