Trojans Fall to LMU, 14-5

The Trojans fall to 4-7 on the season, while LMU improves to 6-6.
USC struck first in the game, putting up two runs in the second inning courtesy of a double by Trevor Halsema and an RBI groundout from Brandon Perez. The lead would only last until the top of the third, however, as the visiting Lions put up seven runs in the frame. Kenny Oyama hit a three-run double and Trevin Esquerra hit a three-run homer for LMU in the third.
Trailing 8-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth, the Trojans mounted a comeback and cut the lead in half with three runs. Perez doubled home a run and was followed by a two-run double from Tyler Lozano. That was it for the Trojans the rest of the way, though. LMU would add two runs in the seventh and then broke the game open with four runs in the ninth.

- Tyler Lozano was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the game.
- Brandon Perez was 1-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
- Chase Bushor went 2-for-4 at the plate and scored twice.
- Ethan Reed tossed 2.0 scoreless innings out of the bullpen in his collegiate debut, giving up two hits, no walks and striking out four.
COMING UP
USC hosts Oklahoma State on Friday and then No. 16 Michigan on Saturday, before facing No. 2 UCLA at Dodger Stadium on Sunday as part of the Dodger Stadium College Baseball Classic.
