The Trojans finished 4-under in the Southern Highlands Collegiate today.
Senior Sam Kim fired a 5-under 67, his USC career best, to lead the No. 3 Trojan men's golf team to a 4-under second round at the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas on Monday (March 4).
The Trojans are a three-time winner this season but are playing without senior Justin Suh who is readying for his exemption at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando. The 4-under round today moved the team three spots north into 11th at 9-over 585 (301-284).
Kim carded his best round as a Trojan thanks to three birdies and a pair of eagles on the par 5 13th and 3rd holes. Only bogeys on 11 and 9 got in his way as the senior finished 36 holes tied for ninth at 3-under 141 (74-67).
Freshman Charlie Reiter righted the ship as well today, moving into a tie for 30th at 2-over 146 (76-70) after his 2-under second round that featured five birdies.
Sophomore Katio Onishi battled to a par round, including back-to-back birdies on 8 and 9 as well as on 17 and 18. He is tied for 59th at 6-over 150 (78-72).
Sophomore Issei Tanabe is tied for 44th at 4-over 148 (73-78). He was 1-under through 15 holes today before double bogeys on 7 and 8 stopped his momentum.
Junior Kyle Suppa is tied for 72nd at 10-over 154 (78-76).
