The No. 10 USC men's swimming and diving team, led by senior All-Americans Carsten Vissering, Patrick Mulcare and Kyle Grissom, is in Texas for the 2019 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, Wednesday through Saturday (March 27-30), in Austin.

* The schedule kicks off Wednesday with the timed final of the 800y free relay at 4 p.m. PT. Prelims for Thursday through Saturday will start at 8 a.m. PT with finals at 4 p.m.

CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
Events begin on Wednesday (March 27) with the timed final of the 800y free relay. Thursday's schedule features 200y free relay, 500y free, 200y IM, 50y free, 1-meter diving and 400y medley relay. Friday features the 400y IM, 100y fly, 200y free, 100y breast, 100y back, 3-meter diving and 200y medley relay. Saturday's finale includes a timed final of the 1650y free, 200y back, 100y free, 200y breast, 200y fly, platform diving and the 400y free relay.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS NOTES
USC's nine NCAA team titles (1960, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977) are fourth most nationally and Troy has won a combined 121 NCAA event titles (also fourth most), including 98 individually and 23 on relays ... USC won its last team title in 1977 and posted its last top 3 finish in 1990 with a second place. Since 1990, the best USC has done is a quartet of fourth-place finishes in 1991, 2001, 2013 and 2015. The Trojans have won at least one NCAA title in 10 of the past 18 seasons, including USC's first title in the 200y medley relay in 2018. That saw Robert Glinta, Carsten Vissering, Dylan Carter and Santo Condorelli win in a school record 1:21.82 … In 2015, then-senior Cristian Quintero won the 200y free – USC's last individual title -- and led USC to wins in the 400y and 800y free relays, Troy's ninth NCAA wins in both races. In 2014, Quintero won the 500y free and led USC to a win the 800y free relay. In 2013, junior Vladimir Morozov swept the 50y and 100y freestyles, Troy's first crowns in the events since 1977 and 1974, respectively. Morozov also led USC to its first 400y free relay title since 1977. Troy has also won four 400y medley relays in its NCAA history and one 200y medley relay.

Seniors Patrick Mulcare and Carsten Vissering are USC's highest seeds entering this year's NCAA Championships and have the top collegiate pedigrees on the team. Mulcare, a 2016 Pac-12 champion, is the No. 2 seed in the 200y back thanks to his time from December at the Texas Invitational (1:38.91). He is USC's first three-time 200y back A finalist since 1993-95, which includes third-place finishes in 2017 and 2018 and an eighth in 2016. The last four-year Trojan A finalist was Olympic legend John Naber, who won NCAA titles in the 200y back from 1974-77. USC's last title in the race was a 1997 win by Lenny Krayzelberg … Vissering is the second seed in the 100y breast thanks to his school-record 50.78, a time posted en route to his 2018 Pac-12 title. He is trying to become USC's first three-time 100y breast A finalist since Ryosuke Imai (1999-2001). The Trojans haven't won the NCAA event since William Craig in 1965.

Freshman Victor Johansson, who won the Pac-12 title in the 500y free, is the 13th seed in the race with his season-best 4:13.30. He will also swim the 1650y free … Senior co-captain Kyle Grissom will swim individually at the NCAAs for the first time, entered as the No. 29 seed in the 50y free while he'll also swim the 100y free … Sophomore Nikola Miljenic, in his first year as a Trojan, will also swim the 50y and 100y free as well as the 100y fly … Junior Mario Koenigsperger is making his NCAA debut, seeded 21st in the 100y breast and 24th in the 200y breast … Senior Alex Valente returns for his third NCAA trip and will race in both fly events … USC's highest relay seed is eighth in the 400y medley relay. Troy is also 12th in the 200y medley relay.
Patrick Mulcare earned Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week honors for the week ending Jan. 19 after posting wins in the 100y and 200y back and the 200y IM in USC's win over Minnesota. Henry Fusaro earned Diver of the Month honors in November.

Freshman Victor Johansson was named Sweden's Male Swimmer of the Year for 2018. He was a finalist at the 2018 European Championships, finishing fifth in the 400m free (3:47.74). He also tied for ninth in the 800m free (7:54.31) and was 15th in the 1500m free (15:15.75). At the Swedish Nationals in April, he set a pair of national records with a 7:49.77 in the 800m and a 15:03.74 in the 1500m free.

The Trojans won two individual races as well as a relay in the 2018 Texas Invitational. Patrick Mulcare claimed the 200y back in a nation's leading 1:38.91 while Carsten Vissering won the 100y breast in 50.88, breaking his school record also en route to the top time in the country … Troy's 200y medley relay of Mulcare, Vissering, Kyle Grissom and Nikola Miljenic won the 200y medley relay in 1:23.84 … Alex Valente was third in the 100y fly (45.95) while Miljenic was second in the 50y free (19.36) and fourth in the 100y free (42.91).
 Patrick Mulcare earned Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week honors for the week ending Jan. 19 after posting wins in the 100y and 200y back and the 200y IM in USC's win over Minnesota. Henry Fusaro earned Diver of the Month honors in November.
