No. 10 USC Men's Volleyball Goes To Grand Canyon, Then Hosts Concordia In North Gym As 1988 NCAA Titlists Honored

THE FACTSÂ
The No. 10-ranked USC men's volleyball team (11-7 overall, 3-3 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation)--on a 4-match winning streak, including a pair of 5-set victories in last week's Pac-12/Big Ten Challenge, and undefeated at home in 2019--gets back to MPSF play when it travels to Grand Canyon (9-11, 0-6) this Thursday (March 14) for a 7 p.m. MT match and then returns home on Saturday (March 16) to host Concordia (9-13, 1-5) at 7 p.m. PT in a contest that will be played in the USC North Gym because of a scheduling conflict in the Galen Center. USC's 1988 national championship team will be honored at the March 16 Concordia match.Â

RANKINGSÂ
USC is ranked 10th in the current AVCA Division I-II Top 15 poll. Grand Canyon and Concordia are not ranked. It is the Trojans' highest ranking since being No. 10 late in the 2017 season (the last time USC was ranked higher was when it finished 2015 at No. 7).Â
OPPONENTSÂ
USC holds a 3-2 edge in its series with Grand Canyon, including a 3-0 sweep in early February. The Trojans are 7-2 all-time versus Concordia, including 2 victories earlier this year, first a 3-0 sweep in the Rainbow Warrior Challenge in early January and then a 3-2 road win at the end of February. The Eagles host UC Irvine on March 13 before coming to USC.Â
50TH SEASONÂ
The 2019 season is the 50th of USC men's volleyball. Since 1970, the Trojan program has been among the finest in college: winning 4 NCAA championships, playing in 14 NCAA Final Fours and producing 20 Olympians, 34 All-American first teamers and 7 College Players of the Year.
