USC 800 Free, 200 Medley Relays Post NCAA A Times In Pac-12 Third-Place Swims

Both performances were among the all-time top 4 in school history.
The No. 15 USC women's swimming and diving team posted a pair of NCAA A cut relays, finishing third in both in the two-event first night of the 2019 Pac-12 Championships in Federal Way, Wash., on Wednesday (Feb. 27).
The Trojans are in third with 108 points after the two relays. Cal, which won both races, is in first (128) with Stanford second (112). ASU (102) is fourth and followed by Arizona (102), UCLA (94), Washington State (90), Utah (48) and Oregon State (44).
The Trojans kicked off their postseason by taking third in the 200y medley relay as junior Hanni Leach, senior Riley Scott, junior Louise Hansson and sophomore Marta Ciesla clocked a season-best 1:35.59, 0.08 out of second and 0.38 out of first. The time was the fourth fastest time in school history.
USC's 800y free relay of Hansson, freshman Laticia Transom and juniors Tatum Wade and Kirsten Vose also took third in an NCAA A cut in 6:54.56, the third-fastest time in school history.
Hansson's leadoff 200 free of 1:42.67 was best of the night and just 0.11 off her season best.
In the Pac-12 men's diving championships, being held concurrently with the women's meet, junior Brad Dalrymple was ninth on 1-meter (268.05) and junior Caleb Dixon was 13th (242.25).
The first full day of prelims is set for Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m.
