SCOUTING REPORT - NO. 1 BOSTON COLLEGE: The Eagles (4-0) were the NCAA runner-up last season and are undefeated this season with big wins at Syracuse and UMass. Sam Apuzzo leads BC with 26 points (18g, 8a) and tops all Eagles with 38 draw controls. Kenzie Kent (10g, 15a) and Dempsey Arsenault (10g, 4a, 18dc) are also major offensive weapons. Defensively, the Eagles are led by Hannah Hyatt who has five caused turnovers and five ground balls. In goal, Laure Daly has a .452 save percentage with 34 goals against. The Trojans and the Eagles will meet for the fifth time. BC has won each of the four previous meetings and prevailed, 13-12, in overtime at McAlister Field last spring (March 7). This will be USC's third time facing the Eagles in Boston. The Trojans fell, 16-12, in 2015; and were eliminated from the NCAA quarterfinal round in a 20-14 loss to BC in 2017.
Â
SCOUTING REPORT - BOSTON UNIVERSITY: The Terriers (2-1) have one loss on record, but it was a 20-6 result to Boston College. BU's two wins were 17-12 over UMass Lowell and 20-2 over Hartford. Kaily Conry leads the Terriers with 18 points (6g, 12a). Ava Barry tops the team with seven goals on the season. Kaitlin Belval has scored five times and is second on the team with 12 draw controls. In goal, Kennady Smith has a .200 save percentage with 28 goals against (15.02 gaa). The Trojans and Terriers have met only once previously. USC defeated BU at McAlister Field, 15-4, on March 8, 2017. That same season, the Trojans did play at BU's Nickerson Field, but faced Cornell there on March 19; a narrow 11-10 loss to Big Red.

LAST TIME OUT: The Women of Troy improved to 3-0 with a 20-16 road victory over San Diego State and a 15-10 win over Jacksonville at home. USC scored 16 first-half goals against the Aztecs to tie a program record, but allowed SDSU to get back into the game late before closing the door thanks in part to career-high five-goal performances from Emily Concialdi and Kelsey Huff. Kerrigan Miller also set new career marks against the Aztecs with seven draw controls and six ground balls to go with two goals. Concialdi repeated her hat trick performance against Jacksonville (3g) while Miller came through with five goals this time and sophomore Riley Hertford stood fast in goal to put up 11 saves in the victory. Up by a goal at the half, 6-5, the Trojans put the Dolphins away with a big 8-1 run and held JU scoreless for more than 14 straight minutes to seal the deal.
Â
MASS TRANSIT: The Women of Troy are 0-4 in previous trips to the state of Massachusetts. In 2014, USC took a 14-6 loss against UMass. In 2015, a regular-season game against Boston College ended, 16-12, in favor of the Eagles. The Trojans made two trips to the Bay State in 2017. In the first, USC faced Cornell at Nickerson Field on the campus of Boston University, but dropped a hard-fought 11-10 decision in freezing conditions. Later that season, USC returned to the City on a Hill for an NCAA quarterfinal matchup with Boston College, but fell to the Eagles once more, 20-14. USC's only letterwinner to hail from Massachusetts was Maeve McMahon. She played for the Trojans in 2018, but previously played for Harvard and was from Duxbury, Mass. Former USC assistant coach Devon Wills is now head coach at Harvard.
