The USC women's tennis team travels north this weekend to take on the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos on Saturday (Feb. 16) in Santa Barbara, Calif.
ORACLE/ITA RANKINGS UPDATES
In the most recent ITA team rankings (Feb. 13), the Women of Troy remain unranked.
The ITA released new singles and doubles rankings on Feb. 7, and four Trojans earned national rankings.
Freshman Salma Ewing holds the No. 24 singles rank, while fellow freshman Danielle Willson improved her singles ranking to No. 86 after a strong win against San Diego's Kati Kukaras in USC's match against the Toreros last Wednesday (Jan. 30).
In doubles, the Trojan pair of Angela Kulikov and Rianna Valdes shot up in the rankings to No. 18. The duo improved 24 spots as they were formerly ranked No. 42 in the last ITA rankings.
SCOUTING SANTA BARBARA
The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are 2-0 to begin the 2019 season. Last week, they defeated Nevada 5-2 and Saint Mary's 4-3. The Gauchos have one nationally ranked singles player, No. 123 Elizaveta Volodko. UC Santa Barbara has no nationally ranked doubles pairs on their squad.
