February 11, 2019 | Baseball, Features
LOS ANGELES – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its watch list for 2019 Stopper of the Year and USC closer Connor Lunn was one of 75 relievers named to the list.
The NCBWA gives the award to the top relief pitcher in college baseball each year.
Lunn was the Trojans' closer all of 2018, leading the team with eight saves over the course of 30.1 innings pitched and 22 total relief appearances. The junior righty boasted a 2.97 ERA while striking out 32 batters and walking just nine last season.
For his career, Lunn owns a 3.84 ERA and a 2.35 strikeout to walk ratio. He earned All Pac-12 honorable mention last year and was part of a combined no-hitter early in the season against Utah, tallying the final three outs for the save.
Lunn looks to again anchor the Trojan bullpen heading into the 2019 season.
