How are you liking USC so far?
So far, I like it a lot. It's really cool to come out west after living on the East Coast my whole life because the culture and everyone around me here is super different, which is really cool.
Do you have any favorite places to go in LA?
I haven't been to a lot of places yet, but so far, I love going to Santa Monica. There are a lot of cool shops, and the beach is really beautiful, so I like spending time there.
Why did you decide to come to USC?
I decided to come to USC because, obviously, the athletics here are amazing. All the teams are so competitive in whatever they do, and the academics are second to none. I think it was just the best of both worlds.
Do you have a favorite class that you've taken last semester or are taking now?
I took a really cool sociology class last semester about diversity, racism, and social change in the Los Angeles area, and I thought it was really interesting to see how all of that history has developed up to today. That was a cool class.
What do you think is the biggest difference between playing lacrosse in high school versus playing in college?
Definitely the hours you play– you play a lot more than you do in high school, and just how competitive it is in general. You're always competing for your spot on the field. Also, the intensity is super high, so you always have to be at the top of your game.
Do you have a certain routine that you follow on game days, or any game day rituals?
I like to braid my hair a certain way and I always wear a scrunchie, and before games I like to listen to music and pump myself up.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
I'm definitely looking forward to getting to know my team better and competing in our conference. Our conference is super strong, and obviously it's only the second season that the Pac-12 has had lacrosse, so I think it'll be exciting to be a part of that. I'm also looking forward to developing my game this season.
What is your proudest achievement from playing in high school?
My proudest achievement is definitely from my sophomore year, when my team won the Tournament of Champions. That was a memorable moment.
