No. 11 USC Grinds Out 1-0 Win at Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The No. 11 USC women's soccer team notched its second straight shutout on the road and got its lone goal from Ashleigh Plumptre to grind out a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Oregon State.
The Trojans move to 14-3-2 overall on the year and 7-3-0 in conference action, while Oregon State falls to 10-6-2 overall and 2-6-2 in Pac-12 play.
Plumptre scored in the first half on a free kick from roughly 25 yards out for the lone tally of the afternoon. The 37th minute goal was her first of the season.
The Trojan defense stood tall from there, holding the Beavers to seven shots in the game and just two in the second half. Kaylie Collins notched her fifth shutout of the year in goal, making three saves in the game. USC had 11 shots in the game and put four on target.
