Hansson and Sancov break pool records
For the second day in a row Sophomore Alexei Sancov (1:48.56) broke a Texas A&M pool record, this time in the men's 200 Meter Free during prelims. Also during prelims, Louise Hansson (58.14) broke the pool record for the women's 100 M Fly on day two of the Art Adamson Invite in College Station, Texas.
Pool record-breakers, Sancov and Hansson, came back during finals to earn individual wins. Sancov took the 200 Y Free with a season best 1:32.95. Hansson finished the 100 Y Fly with a season best 50.05, earning the first NCAA A-cut of the season for the Trojans.
Laticia Transom (1:43.27) took the women's 200 Y Free with a season best. Other season PR's today – Tatum Wade 1:45.57 – 200 Y Free, Isa Odgers 4:17.35 - 400 Y IM, Ivan Puskovitch 3:52.09 – 400 Y IM , Jemma Schlicht 51.64 – 100 Y Fly.
Freshman Aela Janvier (53.88) earned an NCAA B-Cut in the women's 100 Y Back taking fifth while teammate Jack Kirby (47.46) finished third for the men, also earning an NCAA B-cut. Catherine Sanchez (53.15) earned an NCAA B-cut in the 100 Y Fly posting another season PR.
The Women of Troy won big with relays during finals this afternoon taking first in both the 200 Y Medley Relay (1:36.57 -- Transom, Odgers, Hansson, Schlicht) and the 800 Y Free relay (6:58.06 --Hansson, Transom, Schlicht, Wade). The men's 800 Free relay came in a close second place (6:26.71 – Sancov, Saunders, Margarino, Johansson.)
The three-day invite concludes tomorrow with prelims starting at 10 a.m. CT and finals at 6 p.m. CT.
