Sancov sets USC record at Art Adamson Invite

Hansson, Wade lead Trojan Women's 200 Y IM Sweep
Seniors Louise Hansson (1:56.17) and Tatum Wade (1:56.48) led a Trojan sweep in the women's 200 Y IM during day one of the Art Adamson Invite hosted by Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Freshman Nicole Pavlopoulou (1:57.84) tied for third in the 200 Y IM to round out the Trojan 1-2-3 finish. Pavlopoulou posted a personal best earning an NCAA B-Cut. The Trojans competed against swimmers from Texas A&M, Stanford, Hawaii and Air Force.
Sophomore Alexei Sancov broke Patrick Mulcare's 200 Y IM USC school record set in 2017, with a personal best time of 1:43.92.
Junior Nikola Miljenic set a Texas A&M pool record (22.44) during prelims in the men's 50 LCM Free. During finals of the same event, sophomore Thomas Finello went a personal best 19.93 earning an NCAA B-cut in the men's 50 Y free.
Junior Jemma Schlicht (22.30) and sophomore Laticia Transom (22.34) finished 2-3 in the women's 50 Y free. Both the women's 200 Y free A relay (1:27.41 - Transom, Schlicht, Wade, Hansson) and the 400 Medley A relay (3:32.02 - Hansson, Pavlopoulou, Schlicht, Transom) earned NCAA qualifying times during finals.
The meet resumes tomorrow with session two prelims at 10 a.m. and finals starting at 6 p.m. Prelims are swam in long course meters and finals are swam in short course yards.
