Rakocevic Named To Abdul-Jabbar Award Watch List

Award recognizes the NCAA's top centers
USC senior Nick Rakocevic is one of 20 athletes named to the 2020 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award Watch List, it was announced by the Basketball Hall of Fame today (Oct. 18). The annual award in its sixth year recognizes the top centers in Division I men's college basketball and is named after 1995 Hall of Famer and three-time NCAA Champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
Rakocevic enters his senior season ranked 15th on USC's all-time rebound list with 665 career rebounds and is 35 points away from 1,000 career points scored. Last season, he averaged 14.7 points and 9.3 rebounds in 33 games. He posted 15 double-doubles which ranked second among Pac-12 players and 23rd nationally. He ranked in the Pac-12's top 10 in six categories: scoring average (10th), rebounds (3rd, 308), field goal percentage (8th, 54.8 percent), blocked shots (5th, 47), offensive rebounds (1st, 109) and defensive rebounds (3rd, 199). Rakocevic was named honorable mention on the 2019 Pac-12 All-Conference team and is on the 2020 preseason first team All-Conference list.
