Mobley Named To The 2020 Karl Malone Award Watch List

Award recognizes the NCAA's top power forwards
USC freshman forward Isaiah Mobley is one of 20 athletes named to the 2020 Karl Malone Award Watch List, it was announced by the Basketball Hall of Fame today (Oct. 17). Mobley is one of two freshman on the preseason watch list for the Karl Malone Award.
The annual award in its sixth year recognizes the top power forwards in Division I men's college basketball and is named after 2010 Hall of Famer and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Karl Malone. A national committee of top college basketball personnel determined the watch list of 20 candidates.
Mobley is a 6-10, 235-pound forward who was a 2019 McDonald's All-American. He was ranked the No. 1 recruit in the state of California by 247Sports and the No. 4 power forward nationally in the 2019 recruiting class. Mobley was also named the MVP of the Pangos All-American Game, the Jumpman Best of the West Game, the JB Showcase, the BattleZONE and the NBPA Top 100 Camp.
Mobley graduated in 2019 from Rancho Christian School in Temecula, Calif. where as a senior he averaged 22 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and three blocks. He helped lead Rancho Christian into the CIF State Open Division Championships.
