USC Signee Isaiah Mobley Named McDonald's All-American
January 24, 2019 | Men's Basketball, Features
Incoming USC freshman Isaiah Mobley was named a 2019 McDonald's All-American, the organization announced yesterday.
Mobley, a 6-foot-10, 230-lb. forward out of Rancho Christian HS in Temecula, Calif., will play in the 42nd annual McDonald's All-American Game on March 27 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Mobley is currently averaging 22 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks per game as a senior at Rancho Christian. Mobley was ranked the No. 1 recruit in the state of California when he signed his letter of intent to play at USC in November and was the only Californian selected to play in this year's McDonald's All-American Game. Mobley was also named the MVP of the Pangos All-American Game, the Jumpman Best of the West Game, the JB Showcase, the BattleZONE and the NBPA Top 100 Camp.
Mobley is the first USC signee to play in the McDonald's All-American game since Chuck O'Bannon Jr. in 2017. Before that, DeMar DeRozan was USC's most recent signee to play in the game (2008). That year also marked the last time that both the USC men's and women's signing classes included a McDonald's All-American, which the Trojans accomplished this year with the signing of Mobley and Angel Jackson on the women's side.
Mobley is one of five members of USC's Class of 2019 — the top-ranked recruiting class in the nation.
