The Women of Troy had three players in double-digit kills in a 3-0 win over Louisville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 7-ranked USC women's volleyball team (5-1) bounced back following a loss to earn a three-set sweep (25-19, 25-22, 25-19) of Louisville (4-2) in the Bubly Invitational at Exactech Arena on Sunday, Sept. 2.

KEY PLAYERS
- Jr. OH Khalia Lanier led all players with 12.5 points on 10 kills, two service aces, and a block. She also had six digs.
- So. OH Brooke Botkin scored 11 kills (4e, 34att, .206) and had eight digs and a block.
- Jr. OH Emily Baptista also had 11 kills and hit .526 (1e, 19att) with three digs and a block.
- Jr. MB Jasmine Gross hit .500 and had five kills with four blocks (one solo).
- Fr. setter Raquel Lázaro dished out 38 assists and had six points on a career-high four aces to go with two blocks and a kill.
- For the Cardinals, Melanie McHenry and Jasmine Bennett each had 10 kills apiece. Molly Sauer led Louisville with 12 digs.
- USC out-hit Louisville, .300 to .121 and served six aces in the match.
- The Trojans never trailed in the first set and rolled to an eight-point lead twice. Lanier had seven of her kills in the first.
- The score was tied seven times in the second set, but USC broke away for a 23-18 lead. The Cardinals stayed the course and trimmed the lead to two at 24-22 before Baptista closed the books with her kill for a 2-0 USC lead.
- The Trojans led by as many as seven points (19-12) and hit .314 in the third set to complete the sweep.
- USC will remain on the road for three matches in Milwaukee, Wis., next weekend. The Trojans take on BYU, tournament host Marquette, and Syracuse at the Al McGuire Center on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 7-8).
- USC and Louisville met for the first time.
- The Women of Troy improved to 8-4 in all-time matches played in the state of Florida.
