USC Falls at Home to No. 8 TCU

LOS ANGELES – The USC baseball team dropped a 10-1 decision at home to No. 8 TCU on Friday evening to start the Dodger Stadium College Baseball Classic.
The Trojans fall to 8-4 with the loss while TCU moves to 9-3. USC continues the classic against No. 15 Vanderbilt tomorrow at 4 p.m.
The Horned Frogs opened scoring in the third inning with a pair of runs and would post all 10 runs over the next several innings, scoring three in the fourth and five in the sixth. USC scored on a wild pitch in the ninth, but was never able to mount a comeback. Luken Baker capped the scoring for TCU with a three-run homer in the sixth.

The Trojans continue the classic against No. 15 Vanderbilt at home tomorrow at 4 p.m. USC then takes on No. 11 UCLA at Dodger Stadium on Sunday at 3 p.m.

- Brandon Perez was 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and scored the lone USC run.
- Dillon Paulson was 1-for-3 with a walk.
- Solomon Bates tossed 3.1 relief innings, giving up one run on two hits and no walks, while matching a career high with five strikeouts.
