USC Posts Season-Best In 800 Free Relay To Open NCAA Championships

Trojans finish 12th overall in kickoff event.
USC posted a season-best in the 800y free relay, topped by another 2018 best by leadoff Dylan Carter, on the single-event first day of the 2018 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., on Wednesday (March 21).
The Trojan foursome of senior Dylan Carter, junior Patrick Mulcare and freshmen Jake Sannem and Justin Nguyen finished in a season-best 6:16.75. Carter led off with a 1:32.59, his fastest 200 of the year as well.
The championships continue over the next three days with prelims at 8 a.m., finals at 6 p.m., PT.
