Senior misses title on board by less than a point.
USC senior Dashiell Enos completed his conference diving career in strong fashion, though just short of a third title, finishing second on platform by less than a point to close the Men's Pac-12 Diving Championships on Friday (Feb. 23) in Federal Way Wash.
Enos, the two-time 3-meter winner who finished second in the event to teammate Henry Fusaro on Thursday, totaled 397.75 points, 0.60 back of Stanford's Theodore Miclau.
Enos regained the lead after his fifth dive, but Miclau countered with a final dive that scored 79.20. Enos, the final diver of the competition, scored 70.40 on his last attempt, falling just short of his first platform title.
Still, it was his third straight final in the event after two previous fourth-place finishes. Enos was a three-time finalist both this and last year.
"I'm very happy with my final Pac-12 performance," Enos said. "Though some things could have been a little better here and there, I had a lot of fun and did some great dives too.
"What helped me most was to enter the competitions with excitement. A lot of that had to do with having a determined mindset and being focused on one dive at a time like I was in practice. So I'm definitely happy with how everything went and I'm feeling ready for Zones and NCAAs coming up."
Senior Dylan Marin was 10th in the event with 235.60 while Fusaro was 14th (214.05).
