Rakocevic Playing For Serbian U20 National Team

Trojan rising sophomore to compete in European U20 Championships in Greece
USC rising sophomore Nick Rakocevic will play on the Serbian U20 national team at the 2017 U20 European Championships in Crete, Greece from July 15-23.
Rakocevic averaged 6.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 12.1 minutes per game for the Serbian U20 team as it won the Turgut Atakol Tournament in Istanbul, Turkey from July 3-9 to qualify for the U20 European Championships. Sebia defeated host Turkey 83-81 on July 7 which ultimately tied them for the best record in the tournament (4-1), but advanced by virtue of its head-to-head win over Turkey.
Rakocevic and Serbia will be playing in "Group D" at the European Championships, which also includes Italy, Slovenia and Spain. The Group D schedule has Serbia playing Italy on July 15, Slovenia on July 16 and Spain on July 17. Should Serbia advance, the Round of 16 games are on July 19, the quarterfinals on July 20, semifinals on July 22 and the championship on July 23. During his freshman season at USC, Rakocevic played in all 36 games and averaged 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds. He was second on the team in offensive rebounds (60) and fourth in overall rebounds (134) and blocks (23). Rakocevic helped key USC's comeback from a 15-point halftime deficit in its First Four game against Providence on March 15 by scoring seven of his nine points in the second half.
