BREAKDOWN: Nick Rakocevic (rah-COE-cev-ich) is a 6-11, 225-pound senior  forward who is a versatile scorer and strong rebounder. He enters the season 35 points away from 1,000 career points scored. He also ranks 15th on USC’s all-time rebound list with 665 boards.
2018-19: Rakocevic averaged 14.7 points and 9.3 rebounds while playing in all 33 games, making 30 starts. He ranked among the Pac-12’s top 10 in six categories: scoring average (10th), rebounds (3rd, 308), field goal percentage (8th, 54.8 percent), blocked shots (5th, 47), offensive rebounds (1st, 109) and defensive rebounds (3rd, 199).  He was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention. His 308 rebounds rank ninth on USC’s single-season list. He posted 15 double-doubles, second in the conference and tied for 23rd nationally. His rebound average also ranked 33rd among all NCAA players. He began the season with three consecutive double-doubles with 18 points & 16 rebounds vs. Robert Morris on Nov. 6, 19 points & a season-best 18 rebounds vs. Vanderbilt on Nov. 11 and 16 points & 12 rebounds vs. Stetson on Nov. 14. He became the first USC player to record three double-doubles to start a season since Sam Clancy did it to start the 2001-02 season. His five consecutive double-doubles dating back to the previous season were the most by a USC player since Nikola Vucevic had eight-straight during the 2011 season. He scored a career-best 27 points twice, first on Jan. 3 vs. California and then again on Jan. 24 vs. Arizona.  He was named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the first two times in his career for the week of Dec. 31-Jan. 6 and Jan. 14-20. He scored 25 points and had 13 rebounds at Washington State on Feb. 2. He scored 17 points and had 17 rebounds in USC’s Pac-12 Tournament Quarterfinals game vs. Washington on March 14.
2017-18: Rakocevic played in all 36 games, making 22 starts, and averaging 8.1 points and 6.2 rebounds.  He averaged 10.1 points and 8.3 rebounds over USC’s final 13 games. His 62.7 field goal percentage led USC, was third among Pac-12 players and ranks second on USC’s single-season field goal percentage list. He scored in double figures 13 times and had double-digit rebounds six times.  Ten times he led USC in rebounding, including the final four games of the season. He had a career high in both points and rebounds in USC’ NIT opener vs. UNC Asheville on March 13, finishing with 24 points and 19 rebounds...his 19 rebounds were the most by a Trojan since David Bluthenthal tied the school record with 28 vs. ASU in 2000. Rakocevic had four-double doubles: 16 points/10 rebounds vs. Santa Clara on Dec. 14, 12 points/12 rebounds vs. UCSB on Dec. 17, 14 points, 10 rebounds at UCLA on Feb.3 and 24 points/19 rebounds vs. UNC Asheville on March 13. He was second on the team with 223 rebounds and led USC with 97 offensive rebounds, fourth in the conference.
2016-17: Rakocevic played in all 36 games, making eight starts. He averaged 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds in 14.9 minutes played per game. He was fourth on the team in rebounds (134) and blocks (23). Also, second on the team with 60 offensive rebounds. Started the opener vs. Montana, but got in foul trouble and finished with one point and two rebounds in 10 minutes.  Started again vs. Omaha on Nov. 13 and scored seven points and had seven rebounds...also had two blocks. Came off the bench to score six points at Texas A&M on Nov. 18. Scored eight points and grabbed four rebounds in 11 minutes off the bench vs. UCSB on Nov. 27. Started and had a season-best 13 points and nine rebounds vs. Pepperdine on Dec. 11...was 9 of 10 from the free throw line. He scored 10 points, had seven rebounds and three blocks vs. Troy on Dec. 17. He had 11 points on 5 of 6 shooting and added eight rebounds vs. ASU on Jan. 22. Had a career-high four blocks, seven points and four rebounds against Oregon St. on Feb. 9. Was 5-for-5 to score 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds vs. Washington on March 4. Helped key USC’s comeback from 15 points down at the half vs. Providence in the First Four game on March 15, scoring nine points, with seven points and a steal in the second half.
HIGH SCHOOL: Rakocevic played for Saint Joseph’s High in Westchester, Ill., where he averaged 19.8 points, 14.4 rebounds and 4.0 blocks as a senior.  He was named the Chicago Tribune All-Star first team, All-State and All-Conference. In St. Joseph’s 56-55 loss to Manual (Peoria) in overtime in the Class 3A third-place game to end Rakocevic’s prep career, he scored 26 points, had 13 rebounds, six blocks and four steals. Rakocevic posted a double-double in all of his 33 starts. As a junior, he led his team to the 3A Illinois state title. In the championship game against Belleville Althoff, he scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
PERSONAL: Nick was born on Dec. 31, 1997 in Chicago, Ill. His parents are Momo and Denise Rakocevic and he has one brother, Pete. Likes listening to music, watching movies and hanging out with friends during his spare time. List Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg as his favorite actors and J. Cole and Drake as his favorite musical artists. Says his sports hero is Michael Jordan because he was the greatest of all time. Served as a tutor to middle school children during high school. Is a Communications major at USC.
