Trojans tied for ninth overall after two rounds in Portland.
Junior Justin Suh and freshman Kaito Onishi each carded even rounds to lead the USC men's golf team in the Nike Golf Collegiate second round at the Pumpkin Ridge G.C. in Portland, Ore., on Monday (Oct. 1).

The Trojans are tied for ninth with Texas after 36 holes at 1-under 567 (277-290). Stanford (-21) and Oklahoma (-19) are first and second, respectively.

Suh, looking for his third top 10 this year and his ninth straight top 20 (and eighth out of nine in the top 11), is tied for 13th at 4-under 138 (67-71) after his three-birdie, three-bogey day. He is seven shots off the lead, three out of fifth.

Sophomore Cheng Jin is tied for 24th at 1-under 141 (67-74) while sophomore Kyle Suppa is tied for 48th at 3-over 145 (71-74). Suppa was on pace for an under par round, 2-under through 17, until troubles on 18 left him with a 10 on the hole.

Onishi is tied for 60th at 6-over 148 (77-71) after a five-birdie day while sophomore Ryan Slater is tied for 64th at 8-over 150 (72-78).
