NBA Season Tips Off For Five Trojans

Tonight, the 2017-18 NBA season tips off, and five USC alumni begin their chase for the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
Warriors guard Nick Young is the only Trojan in action on NBA Opening Night. Young (pictured below) kicks off his 12th NBA season — first with the reigning champs — at 7:30 p.m. PT against the Rockets. Young may be in for a wild ride this season, as the Warriors are the preseason favorites to win it all once again.
Tomorrow night, three more Trojan alumni kick off their seasons.
Forward Taj Gibson begins his ninth season in the NBA — and first with the Minnesota Timberwolves — tomorrow night against the Spurs.
Center Nikola Vucevic begins his seventh season — sixth with the Orlando Magic — tomorrow against the Miami Heat, and center Dewayne Dedmon begins his seventh season — first with the Atlanta Hawks — tomorrow against the Dallas Mavericks.
Meanwhile, guard DeMar DeRozan begins his ninth season with the Toronto Raptors on Thursday against the Chicago Bulls. DeRozan is coming off an All-Star and Third Team All-NBA season in which he led the Raptors to the second round of the NBA Playoffs.
