Ishimatsu Wins Platform To Close Bruin Diving Invitational

Senior Haley Ishimatsu, the two-time defending NCAA champion on platform, won the women's event on the final day of the Bruin Diving Invitational on Monday (Jan. 19) while junior Collin Pollard was second in the men's competition.
Ishimatsu won the platform with 604.70 points, well ahead of UCLA's Annika Lenz' 559.80. Trojan junior Natalie Kalibat also made the final and finished 11th (418.80).
Freshmen Alexa Cacao (201.45) and Annie Whelan (200.35) just missed earning final spots out of prelims, finishing 13th and 14th, respectively. Junior Katherine Van Winkle was 24th (174.05).
Pollard, who won the 1-meter and was second on 3-meter, took second took second again on platform with 736.55 while junior Deon Reid was third (704.45) and senior Jordan Gear was fourth (649.70).
